Grade: 5/5 Comments:  Very good description of the yin-yang symbol. REL 230 Yin-Yang Meaning Yin-yang is one way that the dao expresses itself. The yin-yang are two equal, opposite, and complementary forces. Yin is the dark side and is considered passive, recessive, weak, and feminine. Yang is the white side and is considered active, dominant, strong and masculine. In the symbol each side had a bit of the other. It is believed that the universe is made up of yin-yang energies called chi or qi. All elements are made up of the two forces and both are required for balance.

  Celeste Jackson 9/19/22 RELS 221 Western Religion  What parallels can you draw between Native American and African religious resistance movements? There are many similarities and parallels between Native American and African Religions. Both groups view the spiritual world and everyday life as one and the same with no separation between them. Both believe in a high God that is mostly removed from daily life and they instead interact with spirits, or ancestors for direct help. They both also viewed the earth as a resource to use respectfully and not to abuse. Native Americans and Africans both faced colonial development and encroachment in their respective regions.
